Brian Donesley’s professional experience includes serving as a twice-elected Idaho State Senator (District 16, Ada County), Division Administrator for the Alcohol Beverage Control Division of the Idaho Department of Law Enforcement, and as Chief Legal Counsel for the Idaho Department of Law Enforcement, now known as the Idaho State Police. Brian has also served as a Special County Prosecutor and Special Assistant Idaho Attorney General. Brian was General Counsel for the Shoshone–Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation, where he developed tribal court processes and rules and litigated against the U.S. government to protect tribal sacred lands from bombing range depredations. Brian has instructed State police at the Police Officers Standards and Training Academy (POST). Brian’s first law position was to assist the public defender and to practice in private practice in Clearwater County, Idaho. Before his impressive legal career began, Brian was a three-sport athlete at Stanford University.
