JOHNSON MAY is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its fast-growing, full-service legal team. The ideal candidate will primarily manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes within the Firm’s practice areas. The firm’s expectations for the candidate include interaction with clients, negotiating settlements, drafting documents and pleadings, taking depositions, attending hearings, and participating in court and jury trials. The candidate will also conduct transactional work within the applicable practice areas as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
The optimal candidate will be able to step into a fast-paced and dynamic general litigation and transactional practice with offices located in Boise, Idaho, and Twin Falls, Idaho.

Requirements:
- Current Idaho Bar License, CLE compliance, and good standing status
- Experience: 3+ years of practice with an emphasis in litigation
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work for either the Boise, ID 83702 or Twin Falls, ID 83301 location.
- Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Compensation:
Compensation depends upon experience and meeting the above-stated qualifications and requirements.
Candidates earn a base salary and can participate in a bonus structure, allowing the candidate to control his/her earning potential.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Legal Assistant specializing in Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, & Personal Injury, you will be an integral part of our energetic legal team. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including:
- Scheduling: Manage all calendaring details within your Attorney Team, including court appearances, case deadlines/reminders, appointments, and client meetings with immediacy and consistent accuracy. Knowledge is required of how the Idaho Rules of Civil Procedure and the Idaho Rules of Family Law Procedure apply to deadlines. Scheduling is the most important role/responsibility of the Legal Assistant position.
- Administrative Case Mastery: Collaborate with an Attorney Team to organize and prepare legal documents for Family Law, Estate Planning & Personal Injury, ensuring our legal processes are executed correctly and run smoothly.
- Document Control: Ensure legal files are expertly organized, both electronically and in hard copy formats, for easy access and reference.
- Court Contributions: Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
- Communications: Maintain prompt, helpful, and courteous contact with clients via phone and in person regarding case updates, appointments, and fielding inquiries.
- Co-worker Engagement: Communicate professionally and effectively with our Team members regarding training, assistance, and workability.
- Collaborative Spirit: Thrive in a collaborative Team environment, working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and Administrative Legal Professionals to enhance our collective efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Administrative Assistant, focused on Family Law, Estate Planning & Personal Injury is a plus.
- Multi-tasking: Adaptable, agile go-getter that can keep up in a fast-paced environment, while taking the necessary time to check work for quality control and consistency.
- Research Skills: Familiarity with relevant legal databases or a desire to learn the systems.
- Detail Diligence: Exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including self-advocation.
- Tech Savvy: Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and SharePoint, as well as Clio legal software. A curious desire to learn these systems is required.

Position Overview:
JOHNSON MAY seeks a skilled, experienced Finance Manager to join its dynamic team and contribute to the firm’s continued growth and success. The Finance Manager oversees all financial and accounting functions within the firm. The Finance Manager is a critical position for management of the firm’s financial health by providing strategic financial guidance to the firm’s leadership and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong accounting, financial analysis, and leadership background and demonstrates the ability to streamline processes, implement best practices, and drive results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the firm’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and reconciliation of operating and IOLTA accounts.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to firm leadership to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and performance metrics.
- Accurately record all the organization’s financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain and update the general ledger by posting and categorizing transactions into appropriate accounts, ensuring that all entries are accurate and properly documented.
- Managing accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and promptly issuing payments to vendors and suppliers while maintaining accurate records of outstanding balances.
- Handling accounts receivable activities such as generating invoices, tracking customer payments, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling invoice payments.
- Perform regular reconciliations to ensure that all transactions recorded in the accounting software match bank statements. Identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Manage Accounts Receivable process, including proactively following up with clients regarding payments and resolving any billing discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain effective collection strategies to reduce and minimize AR balances.
- Work closely with the Operations Director and Attorneys to address concerns and determine financial decisions.
- Prepare and analyze AR aging reports to track and identify areas of improvement.
- Prepare financial reporting and attend weekly Leadership Meetings.

- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Proof of strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets and forecasts
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
