Bart D. Browning was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated in 1981 from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Family Financial Planning. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate in 1984 from J. Rueben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

He began his career in Pocatello with the Lou Racine Law firm and then with the Bannock County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. In 1988, he and his young family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where he worked for Webb, Burton, Carlson, Pedersen, and Webb. He became a partner of May, Browning, and May and served the Twin Falls and Boise communities until he and his wife left for Milan, Italy, in July of 2019 to serve as Mission Leaders for three years. He is currently of counsel for Johnson May (the successor firm to May, Browning, and May).

Since 2011 Bart has been a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA). AAAA’s membership is limited to a small number of highly vetted and qualified adoption attorneys nationwide. He does adoptions of every kind. He enjoys helping both natural and prospective adoptive parents thru the adoption process with the end goal of making it a win-win situation for all involved.   His love for adoption law began when he and his wife, Gail, adopted their first two children more than 35 years ago.

Mr. Browning is dedicated to helping victims injured through the negligence of others. He handles injury cases of all types, including workplace injuries. He is a longstanding member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association.

As a former deputy prosecuting attorney, he understands the criminal justice system, and now as a private attorney, he provides representation at both the misdemeanor and felony levels.

He has also helped many employees receive wages and benefits due and owing and regain employment. In addition, he is a trained mediator and negotiator and loves the opportunity to help people resolve their disputes favorably.

Bart D. Browning enjoys snow skiing, boating, waterskiing, golf, hiking, bike rides, long walks with family and friends, and shopping with his wife of over 42 years. In addition, he is active in many community and church events.

He is married to Gail Hawkes of Pocatello, Idaho. They have three children and five grandchildren.
